2006 charities receive WOMAC donations

This year's chosen charities, the Orchid Cancer Appeal and the Isabel Hospice have both received generous cheques from WOMAC, following this year's successful St Valentine's Party and other fundraising activities and events.  A cheque for £20,000 was handed over to the Orchid Cancer Appeal.  This will fund a research nurse to work on clinical trials into early stage male cancers.  This research based at St, Bartholomew's Hospital, aims to improve side effects and fertility prospects in cases of testicular cancer.  The Isabel Hospice was given £8,000, which will a part-time field based complementary therapist to support the hospice's holistic care of cancer sufferers.
