Raise a laugh for WOMAC 26-Sept-2003

Three very funny women will be entertaining guests at WOMAC’s St Valentine’s Party at the Globe Theatre February 17, 2004. This is your chance to see the hilariously funny prize winning performance of Sarah Davies as ‘Jade the Folk Singer,’ winner of the 2003 Funny Women Comedy Awards along with highly commended finalist Kerry Godliman.

Funny Women was created by WOMAC patron Lynne Parker and now offers a unique platform for female comedy performers with the Comedy Awards and a range of other activities in development. These include a showcase of the best of female stand-up at the Edinburgh Festival, a ‘Funny Women Stand Up’ night with all proceeds to charity and a tour later in 2004.

As well as enabling women to break into the macho world of comedy, Funny Women also raises money for charities that benefit female related causes. During 2003 it has raised over £4000 for breast cancer charities. Funny Women is therefore delighted to be supporting WOMAC and giving you an opportunity to let some of Britain’s newest Funny Women entertain you at the Valentine’s Party.

Funny Women sponsors to date include Roche Pharmaceuticals and Babycham. There are a number of sponsorship opportunities for 2004 and the organisers would be more than happy to discuss these with any interested parties. Please call Lynne Parker on 020 8744 1750 or Eugénie Tham on 020 8244 9583.
